Violeta Básico 4, también conocido como Violeta de Genciana o Violeta Cristal, es un colorante sintético que pertenece a la clase de los triphenilmetanos. Se caracteriza por su color púrpura profundo y es soluble en agua y alcohol, lo que lo hace útil en diversas aplicaciones.
