The active form binds to the cannabinoid receptor type 2 (CB2) and mimics the effects of prostaglandin E2. This drug has been shown to inhibit acetylcholine release from preincubated rat brain tissues, as well as increase dopamine and serotonin levels in rat brain membranes.
