Imidazol es un compuesto heterocíclico de cinco miembros que presenta dos átomos de nitrógeno en la estructura del anillo. Se clasifica como un compuesto aromático debido a su estructura plana y electrones π deslocalizados, que contribuyen a su estabilidad.
