Los Nanotubos de carbono (CNTs) son nanostructuras cilíndricas compuestas de átomos de carbono dispuestos en una red hexagonal, que exhiben propiedades mecánicas, eléctricas y térmicas notables. Se pueden clasificar en Nanotubos de carbono de una sola pared (SWCNTs) y Nanotubos de carbono de múltiples paredes (MWCNTs), siendo los SWCNTs consistentes en una sola capa de átomos de carbono y los MWCNTs compuestos por múltiples capas concéntricas.
