The compound 1-benzyl-1H-1,2,3,4-tetrazol-5-amine is a tetrazole derivative that has been shown to inhibit the growth of gram negative bacteria. It inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting the production of DnaA protein in the cytoplasm through coordination with a zinc ion. The compound has also been shown to be active against Gram positive bacteria and fungi, but not against yeast. The compound has also been shown to have minimal inhibitory concentrations against human fibroblast cells and science.
