CAS:Meclizine is a drug that is used to treat symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease, bowel disease and nausea. It is a histamine antagonist with anticholinergic effects that stabilizes the surface of tablets and suppositories. Meclizine also has an inhibitory effect on human liver energy metabolism and cholinergic activity in the central nervous system. Meclizine can be found in pharmaceutical preparations, including prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications. The drug binds to constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) nuclear hormone receptors, which are involved in regulating gene transcription. In transgenic animals, meclizine has been shown to cause light emission from skin cells.
