It is a reagent for the hydrolysis of escherichia coli, which has been shown to be effective in enzymatic hydrolysis. [1S,2S,(-)]-1,2-Cyclohexanedimethanol has also been shown to have photocatalytic activity and can be used as an acid catalyst for the dehydration of aldehydes. In addition to these properties, this compound has been found to exhibit anti-inflammatory effects.
