MENTE, o MENTEhol, es un alcohol monoterpeno cíclico con el número CAS 3764-87-2. Se deriva principalmente del aceite de menta y es conocido por su característico aroma y sabor a menta. MENTEhol existe en varias formas estereoisoméricas, siendo la más común el (-)-MENTEhol, que es responsable de su sensación de frescor al aplicarse sobre la piel o las membranas mucosas. Este compuesto es incoloro a amarillo pálido y tiene una estructura cristalina a temperatura ambiente. MENTEhol es soluble en alcohol y aceites, pero tiene una solubilidad limitada en agua. Se utiliza ampliamente en diversas aplicaciones, incluyendo saborización de alimentos, cosméticos y productos farmacéuticos, particularmente en analgésicos tópicos y supresores de la tos debido a sus propiedades calmantes. Además, se ha estudiado MENTEhol por sus posibles efectos terapéuticos, incluyendo propiedades antiinflamatorias y analgésicas. Trestolone is a synthetic, non-steroidal hormone with potent androgenic effects. It has been studied in clinical trials for the treatment of bowel disease, but its use is limited by toxicity studies that show that trestolone can cause liver damage. Trestolone has been shown to inhibit the terminal half-life of other drugs, such as cyclosporin A and prednisolone. Trestolone also has an inhibitory effect on growth factor activity in vitro. This drug is a substrate for side-chain cleavage enzyme (side-chain cleavage cytochrome P450) and can undergo oxidative metabolism to produce metabolites with similar activity. Trestolone binds to dna duplexes and inhibits the synthesis of DNA. In addition, this drug has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties in animal models of inflammatory diseases such as cancer and autoimmune diseases.
