Descripción:
Ácido betulínico es un compuesto triterpenoide pentacíclico que se encuentra de forma natural, derivado principalmente de la corteza del abeto (especies de Betula). Se caracteriza por su apariencia cristalina blanca y tiene una fórmula molecular de C30H48O3. Ácido betulínico es conocido por sus diversas actividades biológicas, incluyendo propiedades antiinflamatorias, antivirales y anticancerígenas. Se ha estudiado por sus posibles efectos terapéuticos contra varios tipos de cáncer, ya que puede inducir apoptosis en células tumorales mientras preserva las células normales. Además, Ácido betulínico exhibe propiedades antimicrobianas y ha mostrado promesas en el tratamiento de condiciones como el VIH y otras infecciones virales.
