Descripción:
(±)-Dihidrogenofosfato de cloroquina es un compuesto sintético conocido principalmente por su uso como agente antipalúdico. Pertenece a la clase de las 4-aminoquinolinas y se caracteriza por su capacidad para interferir con el crecimiento del parásito de la malaria al inhibir la polimerización de hemo, lo cual es crucial para la supervivencia del parásito. El compuesto exhibe una naturaleza quiral, con dos enantiómeros, que pueden influir en su actividad farmacológica y efectos secundarios.
