Descripción:
Ácido eicosanoico, también conocido como ácido araquídico, es un ácido graso saturado de cadena larga con la fórmula molecular C20H40O2. Se caracteriza por una estructura de cadena recta que consiste en 20 átomos de carbono y un grupo funcional ácido carboxílico en un extremo. Ácido eicosanoico se encuentra típicamente en varias grasas y aceites naturales, particularmente en ciertos lípidos de plantas y animales. Es un sólido a temperatura ambiente y tiene un alto punto de fusión debido a su larga cadena de carbono, lo que contribuye a su textura cerosa.
