:Espironolactona
Descripción:
Espironolactona es un compuesto esteroide sintético que se utiliza principalmente como diurético y agente antihipertensivo. Funciona como un antagonista de la aldosterona, inhibiendo la acción de la aldosterona en los riñones, lo que promueve la excreción de sodio y agua mientras conserva potasio. Este mecanismo lo hace efectivo en el tratamiento de condiciones como la hipertensión, la insuficiencia cardíaca y ciertos casos de edema. Espironolactona también se utiliza en el manejo de condiciones como el hiperaldosteronismo y puede ser beneficioso en el tratamiento del acné y el hirsutismo debido a sus propiedades antiandrogénicas. El compuesto se administra típicamente por vía oral y tiene una vida media relativamente larga, lo que permite una dosificación una vez al día en muchos casos.
