CAS:Methyl 2-amino-5-chlorobenzoate is a synthetic compound that has been shown to be an inhibitor of the metabolic pathway that produces testosterone. This compound is highly specific and can be used in cancer therapy. Methyl 2-amino-5-chlorobenzoate's reaction mechanism is not yet fully understood, but it has been shown to inhibit the growth of human breast cancer cells in vitro. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy was used to study the mechanism of action, which revealed the inhibition of a number of proteins involved in cell proliferation and motility. In addition, methyl 2-amino-5-chlorobenzoate inhibited the production of reactive oxygen species and DNA damage in these cells.
