CAS:5-Iodovanillin is a benzofuran derivative that has been synthesized by a cross-coupling reaction between an aryl chloride and an organotin compound. This reaction was performed using palladium as the catalyst. 5-Iodovanillin has been shown to be a highly efficient method for the synthesis of hydroxamic acids, which are used in cancer therapy. 5-Iodovanillin also has potential use in treating infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. The chemical structures of 5-iodovanillin are similar to those of other fatty acids that are found in nature, making it possible for this drug to be used as an antimicrobial agent against bacteria and fungi.
