Acitretina es un retinoide sintético, utilizado principalmente en el tratamiento de la psoriasis severa y otros trastornos de la piel. Es un derivado de la vitamina A y funciona modulando el crecimiento y la diferenciación celular, particularmente en los queratinocitos. Acitretina se caracteriza por su capacidad para reducir la hiperproliferación de las células de la piel y normalizar el proceso de diferenciación, lo que lleva a una mejora en la apariencia de la piel y a una reducción de la descamación.
