Descripción:
Rojo Neutro es un colorante sintético y un indicador de pH, comúnmente utilizado en aplicaciones biológicas y químicas. Se caracteriza por su capacidad para cambiar de color en respuesta a variaciones de pH, normalmente pasando de rojo en condiciones ácidas a amarillo en entornos neutros a alcalinos. El compuesto es soluble en agua y exhibe una longitud de onda de absorción máxima en el espectro visible, lo que lo hace útil para teñir células en microscopía e histología. Rojo Neutro se emplea a menudo en ensayos de viabilidad celular, ya que puede penetrar en células vivas y acumularse en lisosomas, permitiendo a los investigadores evaluar la salud y proliferación celular. Además, tiene aplicaciones en microbiología para diferenciar entre células viables y no viables.
