Cannabingerovarin is a phytocannabinoid that acts as an agonist at TRPV3 (EC50= 2.4 uM)1,2. It is reported to efficiently desensitise the TRPV3 ion channel, proving it to be a potential target to develop TRPV3 desensitisers2. TRPV3 activity has been implicated in a variety of diseases, including bone and metabolic disease and cancer3. In vitro studies on human kidney cells expressing a murine recombinant receptor showed intracellular Ca2+ elevation and ion channel desensitization. In vivo studies on mice gastrointestinal tract models have shown their exploitation in both physiological and pathological conditions.1,2 It is also reported to act as a l-α-lysophosphatidylinositol signaling inhibitor, which may affect pain and tumorigenesis through binding to downstream ligand GRP553.
