Glicerol, también conocido como glicerina o glicerol, es un líquido incoloro, inodoro y viscoso con la fórmula química C3H8O3. Es un triol, lo que significa que contiene tres grupos hidroxilo (-OH), que contribuyen a su naturaleza higroscópica, permitiéndole atraer y retener la humedad. Glicerol es soluble en agua y alcohol, pero insoluble en aceites, lo que lo convierte en un compuesto versátil en diversas aplicaciones.
