CAS:Producto controladoMethotrimeprazine is a drug that belongs to the group of drugs called psychotropic agents. It is used as an antipsychotic, antidepressant, and anxiolytic. Methotrimeprazine is also known as a "mood stabilizer" because it can help control mood swings in people with bipolar disorder. Methotrimeprazine has been shown to have a significant effect on the symptoms of carcinoid syndrome and infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS. It may be effective against other autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, psoriasis, and lupus erythematosus. The mechanism of action for methotrimeprazine is not yet fully understood but it has been shown to have receptor activity on the dopamine receptors in the brain and it may act as a modulator of cannabinoid derivatives.
