DL-DOPA, o Dihidroxifenilalanina, es un aminoácido no esencial que sirve como precursor de neurotransmisores como la dopamina, la norepinefrina y la epinefrina. Es una mezcla racémica de dos enantiómeros: L-DOPA, que es biológicamente activo y se utiliza en el tratamiento de la enfermedad de Parkinson, y D-DOPA, que no tiene actividad biológica significativa. DL-DOPA es un polvo cristalino blanco a blanco amarillento que es soluble en agua y ligeramente soluble en alcohol.
