:Ácido fórmico
Descripción:
Ácido fórmico, con el número CAS 64-18-6, es el ácido carboxílico más simple, caracterizado por su fórmula molecular HCOOH. Es un líquido incoloro y pungente que es altamente soluble en agua, alcohol y éter. Ácido fórmico tiene un punto de ebullición de aproximadamente 100 grados Celsius y un punto de fusión alrededor de 8 grados Celsius. Es conocido por sus fuertes propiedades ácidas, con un valor de pKa de aproximadamente 3.75, lo que lo convierte en un ácido débil. Ácido fórmico se encuentra de forma natural en el veneno de las hormigas y en algunas plantas, y se utiliza en diversas aplicaciones industriales, incluyendo como conservante, agente antibacteriano y en la producción de cuero. Además, sirve como agente reductor en reacciones químicas y se utiliza en la síntesis de varios productos químicos.
