Tereftalato de bis(2-etilhexilo) (DEHT) es un éster derivado del ácido tereftálico y 2-etilhexanol, comúnmente utilizado como plastificante en diversas aplicaciones, particularmente en productos de cloruro de polivinilo (PVC). Se caracteriza por su alto peso molecular, baja volatilidad y excelente estabilidad térmica, lo que lo hace adecuado para su uso en plásticos flexibles. DEHT es conocido por su capacidad para mejorar la flexibilidad y durabilidad de los materiales mientras mantiene bajas tasas de migración, lo cual es crucial para aplicaciones en envases de alimentos y dispositivos médicos.
