RSV604 is a replication inhibitor that inhibits the life cycle of viruses by binding to a specific protein, the viral RNA polymerase. This binding prevents the synthesis of viral RNA and DNA. RSV604 has been shown to be effective against group-2 paramyxoviruses, such as herpes simplex virus and influenza virus, but not against other groups of viruses.
