Descripción:
Cloruro de succinilcolina es un bloqueador neuromuscular sintético y despolarizante comúnmente utilizado en entornos médicos, particularmente para facilitar la intubación y proporcionar relajación muscular durante procedimientos quirúrgicos. Es un compuesto de amonio cuaternario derivado de la combinación de dos moléculas de acetilcolina, lo que conduce a su acción en la unión neuromuscular. La sustancia se caracteriza por su inicio rápido y corta duración de acción, que típicamente dura solo unos minutos, lo que la hace ideal para intervenciones quirúrgicas cortas. Succinylcholine chloride is an ester of succinic acid and choline. It binds to the acetylcholine receptor on the postsynaptic membrane of skeletal muscles, which leads to depolarization and contraction. The binding of succinylcholine to its receptor triggers an influx of sodium ions into the cell, which causes membrane depolarization and muscle relaxation. Succinylcholine chloride has been shown to have neurotrophic effects in a study where it was administered to mice with experimental myocardial infarction.
