Descripción:
Omeprazol es un inhibidor de la bomba de protones (IBP) utilizado principalmente para tratar condiciones como la enfermedad por reflujo gastroesofágico (ERGE) y las úlceras pépticas al reducir la producción de ácido estomacal. Es un polvo cristalino blanco a blanco amarillento que es ligeramente soluble en agua y más soluble en disolventes orgánicos. La fórmula química de Omeprazol es C17H19N3O3S, y tiene un peso molecular de aproximadamente 345.42 g/mol. Omeprazol actúa inhibiendo de forma irreversible la enzima H+/K+ ATPasa en las células parietales gástricas, lo que lleva a una disminución de la secreción de ácido gástrico. Se administra típicamente por vía oral y está disponible en varias formulaciones, incluidas cápsulas y tabletas de liberación retardada. La sustancia es estable en condiciones normales, pero puede degradarse al estar expuesta a la humedad y la luz.
