Descripción:
Ácido 4-(2-hidroxietil)-1-piperazinaetanosulfónico, comúnmente conocido como HEPES, es un agente amortiguador zwitteriónico ampliamente utilizado en la investigación biológica y bioquímica. Tiene un valor de pKa alrededor de 7.5, lo que lo hace particularmente efectivo para mantener el pH fisiológico en cultivos celulares y ensayos bioquímicos. HEPES es soluble en agua y exhibe buena estabilidad bajo condiciones fisiológicas, lo cual es crucial para experimentos que requieren niveles de pH consistentes.
