It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. 1,2'-O-Dimethylguanosine is a novel synthetic nucleoside analogue that can be modified to phosphoramidites and ribonucleosides for use as antiviral agents. This compound is also used as a building block for the synthesis of other nucleosides and nucleotides.
