GSK-3 Inhibitor X

GSK-3 Inhibitor X is a synthetic compound that binds to glycogen synthase kinase-3 and prevents it from phosphorylating β-catenin. GSK-3 Inhibitor X has been shown to have proapoptotic effects in vitro on herpes simplex virus, cellular cancer cells, and cancer cells derived from human tumors. This compound also has antiepileptic effects in vivo, as well as an all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA)-like effect on the central nervous system. GSK-3 Inhibitor X has been shown to inhibit locomotor activity in vivo through its ability to bind to DNA, which may be related to its anti-epileptic properties.
