Descripción:

Cerio es un metal dúctil de color blanco plateado que pertenece a la serie de los lantánidos de la tabla periódica, con el número atómico 58 y el número CAS 7440-45-1. Cerium is a rare earth metal and has been studied for its minimal toxicity. Cerium has been shown to be biocompatible and can be used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases. Cerium oxide nanoparticles have been shown to have minimal toxicity and are being studied as a possible drug delivery system for the treatment of osteoarthritis. Cerium has also been shown to have antioxidant activity, which may be due to its ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species or chelate iron. Cerium oxide nanoparticles have also been shown to have potential application in wastewater treatment, as they are able to adsorb organic matter, heavy metals, and radioactive elements.
