Chlorotrifluoromethane
CAS:Producto controladoChlorotrifluoromethane is a colorless, non-flammable and non-toxic gas with a sweet odor. It is a fluorocarbon that has been used as the refrigerant in home and commercial air conditioners since the 1930s. Chlorotrifluoromethane has a high dielectric constant, which means it can withstand high voltage and heat. This property makes it an excellent solvent for many organic compounds and solvents. The solubility of chlorotrifluoromethane increases with increasing temperature, pressure, or when dissolved in other liquids. Chlorotrifluoromethane is mainly used as a solvent in analytical chemistry because of its low boiling point and high volatility. In addition to being volatile, chlorotrifluoromethane also has strong hydrogen bonding properties which allow it to be easily removed from solutions after analysis by gas chromatography or mass spectrometry.
