Ácido metanosulfónico (MSA), con el número CAS 75-75-2, es un líquido incoloro e inodoro que es altamente soluble en agua y en disolventes orgánicos polares. Es un ácido fuerte, caracterizado por su capacidad para donar protones (iones H⁺) fácilmente, lo que lo convierte en un reactivo útil en varias reacciones químicas.
