Azithromycin Impurity O
CAS:
The impurity O is a minor component found in the chromatographic purification of azithromycin. Impurity O is an antibiotic that has been shown to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. The impurity was first identified in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and later included in the 2008 edition of the European Pharmacopoeia. Impurity O is produced by reacting aniline with sodium nitrite, followed by hydrolysis with sulfuric acid. The reaction produces 2-nitro-4-aminobenzoic acid, which can then be reduced to 2-amino-4-nitrobenzoic acid or oxidized to 4-aminobenzoate. Impurity O is found at a concentration of less than 0.1% in azithromycin preparations, but its biological activity has not been studied extensively.
Fórmula:C39H74N2O12Pureza:Min. 96 Area-%Forma y color:White Off-White PowderPeso molecular:763.01 g/molRef: 4Z-A-2611
