Ethylene glycol monovinyl ether has been shown to have effects on monoamine neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin. Sodium salts of ethylene glycol monovinyl ether have been found to inhibit the release of these neurotransmitters from nerve terminals in cell culture studies.
