Dehydropachymic acid is a natural compound that has been shown to have anti-cancer effects. It inhibits the proliferation of human lung cancer cells and breast cancer cells in vitro by suppressing the expression of oncogenes, such as MDA-MB-231, and promoting apoptosis. Dehydropachymic acid also inhibits the proliferation of rat liver microsomes. Dehydropachymic acid has been shown to inhibit iron homeostasis in fetal bovine erythrocytes and miapaca-2 cells. This compound may have potential therapeutic benefits for skin cancer, but more research is needed to determine its efficacy.
