CAS:Carboxy Primaquine is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes. It is used to treat malaria, as it has potent anti-malarial activity against Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax. Carboxy Primaquine is also used to treat other protozoal and bacterial infections, such as toxoplasmosis, pneumocystosis, leishmaniasis, trypanosomiasis, and leptospirosis. This drug has been shown to have immunogenic properties in vivo in humans. Inhibition of carboxyprimaquine metabolism by glucuronide conjugates has been demonstrated in liver cells from humans and rats. The pharmacokinetic profile of this drug includes a rapid absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, followed by a terminal elimination phase with a half-life of approximately 2 hours. Carboxy Primaquine is not carcinogenic in animal models
