CAS:
Phosphorus tribromide is a reactive chemical that is used mainly as an intermediate in the manufacture of other chemicals. It has been studied for its role in the treatment of bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Phosphorus tribromide reacts with copper chloride to form copper phosphorocyanate, which can be hydrolyzed to form trifluoroacetic acid. This reaction mechanism also produces hydrogen fluoride, which is toxic. Phosphorus tribromide can react with benzalkonium chloride to form an insoluble coordination complex. The coordination geometry of these complexes depends on the size and shape of the molecule and can change depending on pH levels. Toxicity studies have shown that phosphorus tribromide is not acutely toxic or harmful when ingested by humans but prolonged exposure may lead to irritation of skin and eyes, damage to lungs and kidneys, or death from inhalation of fumes.
Fórmula:Br3PPureza:Min. 95%Forma y color:Colourless To Pale Yellow LiquidPeso molecular:270.69 g/mol
