It has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes such as cyclooxygenase, lipoxygenase, and monoamine oxidases. This compound has been found to be effective in the treatment of cancer cells. Indoline-2-carboxylic acid is also used in pharmaceutical preparations, where it binds to enantiomers of other molecules and inhibits their biological activity. Indoline-2-carboxylic acid reacts with hydrochloric acid to form allyl carbonate and amide.
