NBDHEX is a drug that belongs to the group of drugs called ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter inhibitors. It is also known as NBDHEX, which is its chemical name. The inhibition of ABC transporters by NBDHEX prevents the transport of molecules across the mitochondrial membrane and affects energy metabolism. This drug has been shown to inhibit IL-10, an anti-inflammatory cytokine, in human osteosarcoma cells and to induce apoptosis in neuronal cells. NBDHEX also has synergistic effects on tumor cells and induces cell death in cancer cells. It can also modulate Toll-like receptor signaling pathways, which may lead to antitumor responses.
