Ácido tiglico, también conocido como ácido 2-metil-2-butenoico, es un ácido carboxílico insaturado caracterizado por su estructura ramificada y la presencia de un doble enlace en su cadena de carbono. Tiene la fórmula molecular C5H8O2 y presenta un grupo carboxilo (-COOH) que le confiere propiedades ácidas. Applications Tiglic acid is the stable isomer of angelic acid. Tiglic acid was found as glyceride in croton oil, as butyl ester in the oil of the Roman camomile, and as geranyl tiglate in oil of geranium. Tiglic acid is formed during the charcoaling of maple wood.
