CAS:Garlic extract is a natural product obtained from garlic cloves. It contains a variety of organosulfur compounds, including trisulfide, which have been shown to have antitumor and antiviral properties. The anti-inflammatory properties of garlic extract are due to the inhibition of reactive protein production in the cells and the prevention of tumor growth. Garlic extract has also been shown to inhibit hepatitis virus and cancer cell growth. Garlic extract may be useful for treatment of cardiovascular disease by preventing ventricular dysfunction. In addition, it inhibits initiator caspases that activate apoptosis in endothelial cells.
