Clorhidrato de moexipril

Descripción:
Clorhidrato de moexipril es un inhibidor de la enzima convertidora de angiotensina (ECA) que se utiliza principalmente en el tratamiento de la hipertensión. Es un profármaco que se convierte en el cuerpo en su forma activa, moexiprilato, que ejerce sus efectos farmacológicos al inhibir la conversión de angiotensina I a angiotensina II, lo que lleva a la vasodilatación y a la reducción de la presión arterial. La fórmula química de Clorhidrato de moexipril incluye una estructura compleja que presenta un derivado de prolina, lo que contribuye a su eficacia y especificidad. Se administra típicamente por vía oral y es conocido por su vida media relativamente larga, lo que permite una dosificación una vez al día. Los efectos secundarios comunes pueden incluir mareos, tos y niveles elevados de potasio, entre otros. Al igual que otros inhibidores de la ECA, está contraindicado en pacientes con antecedentes de angioedema relacionado con la terapia previa con inhibidores de la ECA y debe usarse con precaución en individuos con deterioro renal.
