CAS:Producto controladoCP 55,940 is a cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) agonist. It can inhibit the proliferation of human cancer cells. CP 55,940 also blocks glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β), which is an enzyme that plays a role in cell cycle progression and tumor suppression. CP 55,940 has been shown to induce apoptosis by GSK-3β inhibition in human cancer cells. CP 55,940 also induces autophagy and inhibits cell death through CB1 receptor activation. CP 55,940 is a potent inhibitor of protein kinase C (PKC) and can lead to PKC activation by binding to the PKC site on the cannabinoid receptor. This leads to the inhibition of PKC activity and may be involved in its anticancer effects on prostate cancer cells.
