    CAS:

    R406 is a low-energy drug that inhibits the activity of bromodomains. Bromodomain inhibitors are used as anti-infective agents and for treating cancer. R406 has been shown to inhibit the activity of bromodomains in vitro, but its effects on infectious diseases have not been demonstrated in vivo or in human clinical trials. R406 has also been shown to be a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis, which may account for its effects on chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells. R406 has been shown to downregulate the expression of PD-L1 and pd-L1 (protein), which are receptors necessary for T cell activation. This may explain why R406 is effective against autoimmune diseases, such as lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer.
