Glutatión peroxidasa (GPx) es una enzima antioxidante importante que juega un papel crucial en la protección de las células contra el daño oxidativo. Cataliza la reducción del peróxido de hidrógeno y de peróxidos orgánicos utilizando glutatión como sustrato, previniendo así el daño celular causado por especies reactivas de oxígeno.
