Poli(dimetilsiloxano) (PDMS) es un polímero a base de silicona conocido por sus propiedades únicas y versatilidad en diversas aplicaciones. Se caracteriza por una unidad repetitiva de dimetilsiloxano, que le confiere flexibilidad, hidrofobicidad y estabilidad térmica. El PDMS exhibe baja tensión superficial, lo que lo convierte en un excelente lubricante y agente antiespumante. Su estructura química permite una amplia gama de pesos moleculares, influyendo en su viscosidad y propiedades mecánicas.
