It has been shown to have genotoxic and carcinogenic effects, as it binds to nucleic acids and inhibits DNA replication. 3-Nitrobenzaldehyde has been shown to be effective against a variety of bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium perfringens.
