3-Dimethylaminobenzoic acid is a carboxylate that can be found in plants and animals. It is a precursor to many biologically important molecules, including the amino acid tryptophan. 3-Dimethylaminobenzoic acid has been shown to have a redox potential of -0.38 V, which makes it an excellent candidate for use as an electron acceptor.
