2-[[(Z)-Octadec-9-enoyl]amino]ethanesulfonic acid is a fatty acid that is metabolized by the liver. This compound has been shown to have insulin sensitizing and glucose regulating effects in mammalian cells. It also influences lipid metabolism, which may be due to its ability to regulate transcriptional activity of proteins such as amp-activated protein kinase and acetyl CoA carboxylase. 2-[(Z)-Octadec-9-enoyl]aminoethane sulfonic acid has been shown to improve metabolic profiles, including fatty acids and metabolites, in animals with heart disease and cancer. It may also be a useful biomarker for the diagnosis of metabolic disorders.

Buphenin hydrochloride is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to treat symptoms of infectious diseases. It has been demonstrated to be an effective treatment for people with high blood pressure, and it also has a diuretic effect. Buphenin hydrochloride is structurally related to the NSAIDs ibuprofen and naproxen.
