La óxido nítrico sintasa (NOS) es una enzima responsable de la producción de óxido nítrico (NO), una molécula de señalización involucrada en la vasodilatación, la neurotransmisión y las respuestas inmunitarias. Existen tres isoformas de NOS: neuronal (nNOS), endotelial (eNOS) e inducible (iNOS), cada una desempeñando roles distintos en procesos fisiológicos y patológicos.
