It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in vitro and in vivo. 1-Phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbohydrazide inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the ribosomes, preventing the attachment of amino acids to the tRNA molecule.
